Buchanan Auto Park relocates

ROUZERVILLE—It’s not unusual to see a new vehicle drive off the lot and down the road, but it’s not every day you watch an entire car lot move down the street.

Buchanan Auto Park recently opened a new dealership at 11582 Buchanan Trail East on five acres just east of its former site.

The new 25,000-square-foot location offers two distinct showrooms—one for Chrysler-Dodge-Ram and one for Jeep—plus service department, with more than 50 employees.

“We have more room to serve our customers and we can do it more efficiently,” explained D. Curtis Mummert, president of Buchanan Auto Park Inc. “It’s a comfortable environment with bigger sales capacity and an easier process to navigate, which will allow for quicker return times.”

Mummert said it’s been a long road to get to this location.

Buchanan Auto Park got its start under Dean Hebb when it became a Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge dealership in 1982 and acquired Jeep in 1997. Mummert, who had worked for Hebb, purchased the dealership in 1999. “We grew the business and we outgrew [the former location] years ago,” Mummert said. “It took almost 15 years to acquire all the real estate

Today, customers come from not just Waynesboro and Franklin and Washington counties, but from across the nation. “We’re selling vehicles to customers in Florida, New York, New England … they look at our inventory online,” Mummert said.

He said he’s ready to serve the local community and beyond and is thankful for current and future clients. “We couldn’t have built it without the help of our good friends and customers,” Mummert said.
