Eight SU field hockey players named to all-conference teams

SHIPPENSBURG —The Shippensburg University field hockey team had eight of its players named to the 2021 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Teams on Wednesday, highlighted by major awards for three individuals: senior midfielder Jazmin Petrantonio (Saenz Pena, Argentina/Colegio Nuestra Senora de la Misericordia) (Athlete of the Year), graduate back Caitlyn Wink (Princess Anne, Md./Delmar) (Defensive Athlete of the Year) and head coach Tara Zollinger (Coach of the Year).

It is the second time that Petrantonio has been named the PSAC Athlete of the Year; she was also honored as a sophomore in 2018. She leads NCAA Division II this season with 34 goals in 16 games.

Shippensburg had three players named to the All-PSAC First Team, three to the All-PSAC Second Team, and two to the All-PSAC Third Team – resulting in the most All-PSAC honorees for the Raiders since 2013.

First Team honorees are Petrantonio, Wink and senior forward Jenna Sluymer (Nieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands/Haarlemmermeer Lyceum, Hoofddorp). Second Team honorees are graduate back Tori Albright (Landisburg, Pa./West Perry (UConn), graduate midfielder Sarah Womer (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) and freshman goalkeeper Lindsay Tripodo (Gibbsboro, N.J./Eastern Regional).
