HARRISBURG—The House Judiciary Committee will vote on several bills currently before the committee beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, according to Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-89).

House Bill 1366 would establish the PA Family Law Arbitration Act (PFLAA) and creates a statutory scheme for the arbitration of family law disputes.

House Bill 1822 would increase the statutory limit for when financial institutions can distribute funds to specified family members of deceased individuals without the need for probate.

House Bill 1985 would establish an exception to the Wiretap Act to permit individuals to intercept the oral communications of telemarketers for the purpose of enforcing current consumer protection laws.

House Bill 2016 would clarify that only probate assets are to be considered when evaluating the $50,000 estate value limitation for a small estate petition.

House Bill 2039 would establish the right of a crime victim to be notified of a proceeding where a defendant’s bail could be modified and, subject to limitation, to be offered the opportunity to provide input.

House Bill 2046 would close a loophole by requiring that a person acting as a bail bondsman not for compensation conform with the necessary licensure requirements for other bail bondsmen.

The meeting will be held at 515 Irvis Office Building, Capitol Complex, Harrisburg. A live webstream will be available at www.PAHouseGOP.com
