MECHANICSBURG–The 2021 Waynesboro Stallions Midget Division team will play their first-ever CFA Youth Football Super Bowl against the Lebanon Raiders at Mountain View Middle School, Mechanicsburg, in what league officials believe to be the first time two undefeated teams will play for the title.

The game will kickoff Saturday at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by Cumberland Valley.

Waynesboro, the second seed, shut out Mechanicsburg, 30-0, in the semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 7. A week earlier, the Stallions beat Lower Dauphin, 16-0.

Lebanon, the top seed, defeated Chambersburg, 31-18, and West Perry, 26-0, to advance to the Super Bowl.

Both teams enter the game with 10-0 records and feature high-powered offenses. The Stallions boast the league’s top defense, allowing only three points per game with five shutouts.
Waynesboro has won numerous championships in their former league (Keystone Youth Football League), but this one means more, according to head coach Gary Peck.

“We came to this league to prepare our kids to win at the next level, and it has been everything we could have hoped for,” Peck said. “Our first CFA class is now making history, winning District 3 games at the high school.”
Defensive coordinator Greg Wade said this game will be the toughest test against a Raiders team averaging over 40 points a game.

“They are explosive,” Wade said. “They can score from anywhere and have four or five players who can beat you on any play. We have to control the line of scrimmage to have a chance to stop them.”

Wade is excited to be playing under the lights.
“The prime time game on Super Bowl Saturday under the lights. This is where we want our kids to expect to play every year and on through high school; that’s why we’re here to play the best,” said Peck. “CFA football — there’s nothing else like it”
