Holiday Parade kicks off today

WAYNESBORO—The 64th Holiday Parade will kick off today, Saturday, Nov. 20, beginning at 2 p.m.

The parade begins at C.V. Avenue on the west end of town follow Main Street to Enterprise Avenue, next to the Waynesboro Mall.

The parade will feature community groups, marching bands, majorettes, classic cars, Zembo cars, emergency vehicles and of course Santa Claus will arrive in a beautiful sleigh pulled by the Rouzerville Lions Club.  

More than 50 units are signed up for the holiday parade.

A Holiday Market will be held the night of the tree lighting in Main Street Park at 25 E. Main St.  The market will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Vendors include: A. Jane’s Bows, Artesano Baked Goods, the Auburn Lady, BEEsews, Biser Farm Cheese, Bubble Eats, Flow OG, Ceramics Art Center, Cold Spring Hollow Distillery, the Cosmic Rhythm, CW Candles, Freedom First Design, Gotta Have It Home Décor, Grace’s Family Farm, Grace & Heart, Green Dragon Microfarm, LLC, Hazy Shade of Vintage, Jule of the Nile, Lake House Distillery, Nanner Bananer, Now and Then Boutique, Really Awesome Toys, Rose & Ivy, Scentsy, Sugar Hollow Farms Alpacas, Sweet Rose’s Soaps, T’s Craziness and Taqueria La Cienega.

Other upcoming holiday activities include:

Land O’ Christmas: continues at the Counting House (formerly BB&T Bank), 10 W. Main St. on weekends through Dec. 12., Fridays 4 to 8 p.m., Saturdays noon to 7 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m. Presented by the WALL Club and McDonald’s Restaurant of Waynesboro.

Santa’s Workshop:  The big guy will be at The Counting House, 10 W. Main Street. November 26-28, December 3-5 and December 10-12.  Check mainstreetwaynesboro.org for hours.

Small Business Saturday: Nov. 27. Downtown business specials.  Giveaways, “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” at 2 and 7 p.m. at Waynesboro Theatre.

Mainstreet Holiday Bazaar: Saturday Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors will fill Main Street Park, M&T Bank parking lot, the parking area next to The Counting House as well as other areas in downtown. “Gremlins” at Waynesboro Theatre at 2 and 7 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Boro Blast: Dec. 31, Main Street Park, 5 to 7:30 p.m.
