Four Waynesboro area youth football players were selected to play in the 6th annual BK Classic All-American game in York.

Anthony Ausherman, Ryan Martin, Hunter Clark and Mick Torbica were selected to compete in this fall’s classic.

Ausherman will play in the seventh grade game. Martin, Clark and Torbica will compete in the eighth grade contest.

Ausherman, Clark and Martin play for the Quincy Panthers of the Keystone Youth Football League. Torbica plays for the Waynesboro Stallions of the CFA Youth League.

“The BK Classic is about bringing some of the best talent from all over the country,” said Donnie Ausherman, head coach of the Panthers, whose son Anthony also competed in the Spring 2021 game. “The coaches are also brought in from all over.”

Teams will have two-a-day practices on Friday and Saturday. Games from third through eighth grade will take place Sunday at Dallastown High School. The seventh grade game is at 3 p.m., followed by the eighth grade game at 4:30.

“Anthony was selected to attend this because of the way he played at the spring event,” Donnie Ausherman said. “They were accepting nominations to fill some roster spots, so I nominated Ryan, Hunter and Mick.

“The process to get accepted that we had to go through in the spring was to provide game film with the application, and they made the selections from that. I’m glad (Anthony) was selected in the spring; it’s a good experience.”

Anthony Ausherman plays quarterback, running back and linebacker. Martin competes at the tight end, offensive tackle and linebacker positions. Torbica plays right guard and defensive tackle; Clark plays right tackle and defensive end.
