WAYNESBORO—The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library is offering the following programs for teens in January:

Bright Star Touring Theatre presents Black History Heroes, Soldiers, & Spies, Friday, Jan. 21, 4 p.m.: History is filled with Black American heroes and in this production, audiences learn the stories of some of the most amazing figures like Colonel Charles Young of the Buffalo Soldiers, the Tuskegee Airmen as they take flight to help achieve victory in World War II, and Mary Elizabeth Bowser, whose work as a spy helped the Union during the Civil War. This interactive program is for all ages. Registration is required.

Anime Club: Teens ages 12-18 who enjoy anime, read manga and draw characters can join the club beginning Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 4 p.m.. Teens will read and discuss favorite /least favorite manga, choose anime shows and movies to watch together and do various games, crafts and other activities related to Japanese culture. The Anime Club meets the first and third Wednesday at the library.

Art Saturday kits. Teens and pre-teens 12-18, can stop by the library on Saturday, Jan. 15, to pick up a free art kit, featuring all the supplies you will need to make the project of the month. Art Saturday Kits are a regular take-home program at the library on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Kits are available for pickup on the 3rd Saturday and the following week or as long as supplies last.

Teen Game Nights (Online): Teens ages 13-18, do you have a smartphone, tablet, PC, and/or console that you play games on? Do you have online games to play & no one to play with? Looking for a game to play but don’t know where to start? Head to the library on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. for online multiplayer games such as Among Us, Jackbox, Unfortunate Spacemen, Gartic Phone and more. Teens will need to be a member of AHMFL’s Teen Discord and must return a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian. Please contact AHMFL Teen Librarian Miss Gina at 717-762-3335 to request a slip. Online Teen Game Nights are a regular program on alternating Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m. in collaboration with Blue Ridge Summit Free Library.

Teen Game Nights (In Person): Teens ages 12-18, the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library invites you to join us for an in-person Game Night at the library, on Jan. 5 and 19, 5 to 6 p.m.

In the Kitchen with Gina (Online): “In the Kitchen” videos with Teen Services Librarian Miss Gina are geared towards teens, those new to cooking, and anyone who likes new ideas for easy (mostly) healthy recipes. This is a regular library video series on 2nd & 4th Tuesdays.

Teen MakerSpace Days: Teens ages, 12-18 can make Scribble Bots on Thursday, Jan. 13 and 27 at 4 p.m. Registration is required at www.ahmfl.org on the Programming Calendar.

Teen Story Share (Online): This is a regular library video series on Fridays, where Teen Services Librarian Miss Gina shares a variety of reading material that is fun for teens, including short stories, & excerpts from longer books—mostly fiction, with some nonfiction thrown in. The next session is Friday, Jan. 7.
