GREENCASTLE—Ben Powers has been named the new general manager of Greencastle Golf Club and Fireside Pub in Greencastle.

Powers is the son of Ron and Beth Powers, owners of the club and pub. He was named to the role after Beth announced her retirement.

“We have assembled an amazing team here at the Club and Pub and so now Ron and I have decided that it is time for us to step away from the day-to-day operations. We are turning over that responsibility to Ben,” Beth explained.

Abbey Powers, Ben’s wife, who has been with the organization for the past three years, now has an expanded role as Finance and Business Office Manager.

Over the past 13 years, Ben has worked multiple positions within the organization with his eye on one day managing the club. After graduating from California University of Pennsylvania, with a degree in Professional Golf Management, Ben worked as the Head Golf Professional at Greencastle Golf Club, before his parents took over the management and eventually purchased the club.

During his time at the University, Ben did multi-year internships at Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, South Carolina as well as Bedford Golf and Tennis Club in Bedford, New York.

“I am honored that my parents have entrusted me with this responsibility and plan to build on what they have so diligently invested in, over the past four years,” Ben said. “This town and this golf club hold special places in my heart and I am excited to be helping grow the club.”

For more information about membership in the semi-private, 18-hole golf club, contact: Membership and Golf Shop Manager, Emily Henke, at (717) 597-1188, Ext.1.
