WAYNESBORO – Mainstreet Waynesboro recently wrapped up its 2022 Boro Blast New Year’s Eve celebration by awarding free children’s bikes.

Congratulations to the winners of these brand new bikes donated by the Waynesboro Walmart store for the Mainstreet Waynesboro/F&M Trust Boro Blast on Dec. 31 at The Counting House on the square.

Adalyn Farnsworth, 6, won the girls bike.
Pictured is Gavin Shank, 8, who won the boys bike, along with his dad, Tyler, right, and Bill Kohler from Mainstreet Waynesboro.

Thanks again to Walmart, lead sponsor F&M Trust, other main sponsors AFS Insurance and Financial Services, McDonald’s Restaurant, Erin Shank State Farm, 1stEnergy Foundation, and our many local businesses who donated hundreds of gift cards and prizes.

Special shout out to Mainstreet Waynesboro board member Holly Wheeler, who arranged the donations of nearly all of the gift cards.

Approximately 400 people braved the rain and fog to attend the fifth annual event, which was held mostly inside for the first time.

Families listened to music from Mid Life Crisis and enjoyed the lowering of a giant slice of Frank’s Pizza and the dropping of more than 800 balloons from a net high overhead the ballroom.

“Despite the rain, it was a great event that was enjoyed by families and people of all ages,” said Bill Kohler, director of economic development for Mainstreet Waynesboro. “Thanks to F&M Trust for partnering with us on this fun, family-focused event.”
