WAYNESBORO, PA – Just a couple weeks away from the Primary Election on May 16, Magisterial District Judge Annie R. Gómez Shockey announces a key endorsement from the State Fraternal Order of Police Keystone Lodge 41.

“Keystone Lodge 41 seeks to endorse candidates who have the best interest of Pennsylvanians and its law enforcement community as their core value and our members have voted to unanimously endorse Judge Gómez Shockey,” said Steven Nesbit, President of the State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Keystone Lodge 41. “Judge Gómez Shockey’s demonstrated support of not only law enforcement but for all residents of Franklin County shows resolute determination in making our communities a safe place to live, work and raise a family.”

“I’m honored to have the support of these remarkable public servants who work every day to serve and protect our communities in Franklin County,” said Judge Gómez Shockey. “Respect for all those interacting with the court, including law enforcement, is one of my core values.”

Judge Gómez Shockey serves residents of Waynesboro and Washington Township in District Court 39-3-02 located in Wayne Heights. She has been serving as Magisterial District Judge since 2018.

A Waynesboro native, Judge Gómez Shockey graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School in 2000. Afterward, she obtained her bachelor’s in political science with a minor in Spanish from Shepherd University. She then received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007 and was admitted to the practice of law in West Virginia in 2007 and Pennsylvania in 2008. Judge Gómez Shockey served the greater Waynesboro area as an attorney from 2008 until her election as Judge.

In addition to the daily tasks of processing complaints, holding trials and hearings, setting bail, and issuing warrants, Judge Gómez Shockey has cleared a backlog that included disposing of 3,100 pending cases, issuing over 1,600 warrants, and collecting over 800 accounts receivable. “It has been a busy five years since I took office, but I wouldn’t trade this chance to serve for anything else,” said Judge Gómez Shockey. “Impartially administering justice and serving the people of Greater Waynesboro as Judge is one of the greatest privileges of a lifetime.”

Gómez Shockey, her husband Graig, and their six-year-old son are members of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Waynesboro, helps with the Appalachian Trail Community, and is involved in various other community organizations.

Registered voters living in Waynesboro and Washington Township can vote to re-elect Magisterial District Judge Annie R. Gómez Shockey in the Primary on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
