HGR inspection concluded

HAGERSTOWN, MD- Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) is proud to announce its successful completion of the annual Airport Certification inspection conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The inspection, known as Part 139, was concluded with zero findings or discrepancies, showcasing an exceptional level of achievement for the airport.

The Part 139 inspection is a rigorous and comprehensive process that spans up to three days, mandated for commercial service airports to renew their operating certificate. Its purpose is to evaluate an airport’s ability to provide a safe operating environment and facilities for commercial airlines and their passengers.

During the inspection, several safety and compliance components were assessed, including the condition of aircraft firefighting and rescue equipment, safety records, training programs, emergency operations manuals, timed emergency-response drills, airfield security, aircraft and ground-support equipment movement, lighting, signage, markings, pavement conditions, fuel facilities, mobile fueling operations, and wildlife management.

Airport Director Neil Doran expressed his pride in the entire HGR team for achieving such an exacting inspection with zero discrepancies. “To complete an exacting inspection like this with zero discrepancies is a significant accomplishment not to be taken for granted. I am so proud of our entire team of employees here at HGR! This outcome is a direct result of their hard work and steadfast commitment to ensuring that we remain a safe and efficient airport each and every day of the year. I extend my warm and sincere thanks to staff and to our airport tenants who have cooperated with us in meeting and exceeding the FAA’s Part 139 requirements” said Doran.

HGR is among approximately 500 airports certified under Part 139 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations out of the total 14,400 private-use and 5,000 public-use airports, heliports, and seaplane bases in the United States. This certification sets HGR apart from general aviation (GA) airports, as GA airports are not subject to these stringent requirements. As a Part 139-certified, commercial service airport, HGR stands as a beacon of safety and security, attracting airlines, aircraft maintenance and repair organizations, air cargo, business, and general aviation operators.
