This handsome pup has been with us since February of 2022, and is still in search of his forever home. Dodge currently spends most of his week in a wonderful foster home, and has been doing great compared to how he does in a kennel. Dodge is here Thursday evenings through Saturday, and can be visited any of those days or upon request!
Dodge is very reliant on human direction and will need a home where he can look to his owner for commands and reassurance. His foster said he is very polite and nondestructive in her home and that he has done well with potty-training. His foster did note that even with a yard he needs a person with him to go to the bathroom outside and if he is left alone, he will wait to go to the bathroom until he is near people.
Dodge has done well with other dogs in his foster home, but would do best with other friendly/submissive dogs. He cannot be in a home with cats and may do best with slightly older children as he can be pretty rowdy when he first meets someone. He is working on his jumping behaviors and is making progress! Dodge walks much better on a harness than on a collar and has made great progress in his manners and basic training!
This two-year old pup does well with baths (and will even let you blow dry him!) and is a good passenger in the car. In the kennel Dodge can be destructive with his toys, but had not displayed that type of behavior in his foster home. He may need supervision when first given a toy to ensure he is not getting any little bits, but enjoys tossing his toys and running around otherwise. Dodge is a massive snuggle bug, and especially enjoys lounging around in his foster’s chairs and cuddling up with them. Do not let his size full you, Dodge definitely thinks he is a lap dog!
Neither Dodge’s foster or staff know why this rock star of a pup has not found his forever home yet as he is unbelievably sweet. If you are looking for a great pup to take out on adventures that wants to spend the day cuddling up afterwards, Dodge will be the boy for you!
Dodge is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
