HERSHEY- Hersheypark amusement park in Hershey, Pa., celebrates a century of coaster riding this summer. 100 years ago, the first roller coaster known as The Wild Cat opened at Hersheypark.

A century later, Hersheypark is home to an iconic lineup of 15 coasters – the most in the Northeast – packed with heart-pounding climbs, epic drops, and iconic thrills guests can only find in The Sweetest Place On Earth.

New for 2023 is Wildcat’s Revenge, the first hybrid coaster at Hersheypark. It reclaims the iconic name and adds a new steel track with unique elements to the wooden framework for a one-of-a-kind thrilling ride experience in Pennsylvania.

COASTER TRIVIA:

  • Guests can experience over 25 minutes of roller coaster riding this summer on 38,928 feet of track.
  • The oldest operating coaster at Hersheypark is the 77-year-old Comet, a classic wooden coaster best known for several airtime-producing bunny hills.
  • The sooperdooperLooper was the first modern looping coaster on the East Coast and only the second of its kind in the United States.
  • Known for its classic “roar” sound, the guest-favorite Great Bear turned 25 in May.
  • Skyrush is considered one of the most intense coasters in the country and was recently voted as one of the top 10 coasters in the U.S. by USA TODAY 10Best.
  • Candymonium is the tallest and fastest coaster at 210 feet high, with a maximum speed of 76 mph.
  • Hersheypark offers unique and first-of-their-kind coasters like the first indoor glowing and spinning coaster called Laff Trakk and the racing and dueling Lightning Racer.

SPECIAL TICKET OFFER FOR COASTER FANS: In celebration of 100 years of coasters, Hersheypark offers two all-age tickets for $100 when purchased on Hersheypark.com through June 21.

The tickets are valid through September 10, 2023, and include three parks in one with more than 70 rides, The Boardwalk water park (open daily through September 4) and ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park.
