CHAMBERSBURG— The Chambersburg community is gearing up for ChambersFest 2023, a week-long celebration of the town’s resilience and history. The event will run from July 8 to 15 and will feature a variety of activities and events for all ages.

ChambersFest began as a tribute to the people who rose up following the devastating burning by Confederates in 1864. The event has since grown into the greatest community celebration of the year, with thousands of people expected to attend.

The schedule of events includes Restaurant Week, Old Market Day, Burning of Chambersburg, Acapella & Unplugged, Scoop-a-Palooza, North Square Farmers Market, Tim & Susan Cook Race, and more. Please note that the schedule will be updated regularly to reflect the most current event information, and events may be added or changed.

The 19th Annual Tim & Susan Cook Memorial Race will take place on July 8, from 7 to 10 a.m. The 1-mile race/walk will begin at the Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS) upper stadium area, with the women’s race/walk at 8 a.m. and the men’s race/walk at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $25 with a T-shirt (if available), and money raised from this event is contributed to the Tim & Susan Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund, which annually awards scholarships to two seniors from CASHS.

Other events on July 8 include the Scoop-a-Palooza Ice Cream Festival, the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation’s yearly ice cream festival, and the North Square Farmers Market, Chambersburg’s only open-air farmers market offering farm-fresh, seasonal, and 100% locally grown produce.

Restaurant Week will run from July 8 to 15 and will feature unique cuisines and specials to showcase the best in dining. More than 30 restaurants are expected to participate with special meals, deals, and prizes for patrons.

ChambersFest promises to be a fun-filled week for the whole family. For more information, visit the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce website.
