Meet our scruffy Pet of The Week, Atlas!
Atlas came to us as a stray in May 2023 and has not had any interest on our adoption floor. With as sweet as Atlas is, we know this girl will find her forever home soon!
This two-year old pup is initially very shy when meeting new people but warms up very quickly and loves getting belly rubs! Atlas has been a very easy-going girl in the kennel but gets very excited to be outside!
She loves running in the yard and playing with toys and has especially enjoyed tennis balls. Butt and back scratches are the best way to this girl’s heart and when she is comfortable with you she will roll over for belly rubs too! Atlas knows sit and down, and is working on her leash manners. She is very curious about the world around her and loves to explore and sniff everything and anything. Atlas has done well hanging in the office with staff and enjoys entertaining herself with a peanut butter Kong or snoozing by staff’s feet!
Atlas would not be suitable in a home with cats but is always very excited to meet other dogs. She has done well with dogs of all size but may be too rough of a player for smaller dogs. Atlas has done well with her young visitors at the shelter and would be fine in a home with children that understand she needs some time to adjust.
