CHAMBERSBURG– The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging will host a series of listening sessions on the Pennsylvania Department of Aging’s development of the Master Plan for Older Adults.

The Master Plan for Older Adults is a 10-year, state-led and stakeholder-driven strategic plan designed to help transform the infrastructure and coordination of services for older Pennsylvanians. The master plan will also reflect the needs and preferences of this population to live where they choose and access the supports they need to thrive and age in place.

Franklin County will hold four sessions on these dates at these locations:

  • Aug. 4, 9:30 a.m.: Greencastle Senior Activity Center, 10615 Antrim Church Road, Greencastle;
  • Aug. 7, 1 p.m.: Tuscarora Senior Activity Center, 11300 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg;
  • Aug. 17, 1 p.m.: Franklin County Area Agency on Aging office, 600 Norland Ave., Suite 11, Chambersburg; and
  • Aug. 24, 1 p.m.: Franklin County Area Agency on Aging office

Stakeholders, older adults and people living with disabilities as well as their families, caregivers and community leaders are invited to hear an overview of the plan, its core principles and why such a plan is needed in Pennsylvania. There will be opportunities for those in attendance to provide comments and input on the plan.

Individuals who are unable to attend can still provide input on the plan by emailing agingplan@pa.gov or by completing an online form at https://bit.ly/3pmA8Eq. Feedback can also be submitted by contacting the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, ℅ Master Plan, 555 Walnut St., 5th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
