FORT LOUDOUN- The first Slavic and Viking Festival in the United States will be held in Fort Loudoun, Pennsylvania from Sept. 1 to 4. The event will be based on the legendary and most popular festival in Poland, the Wolin Festival.

Viking and Slavic teams from all over the United States will be participating, as well as reenactors arriving from Europe and all over the world. Among them will be Lubomir Aleksandrowicz, one of the greatest reenactors, who is coming with his family from Poland.

The festival will feature combat demonstrations in eastern and western styles, many vendors selling items from the Viking Age, music bands from Europe and America performing period music, an opportunity to taste Slavic and Viking cuisine, and many games and activities. On each evening of the festival, there will be a great feast with the accompaniment of period music.

The event is open to the public each day. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Children 12 and under are free.

The festival is being organized by the Wolin in America Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the cultures of the Slavs and Vikings. The foundation’s goal is to educate the public about these cultures and to foster understanding and appreciation between them.

The festival is expected to attract thousands of people from the United States and around the world. It is a unique opportunity to learn about the cultures of the Slavs and Vikings and to experience their history and traditions firsthand.

For more information about the festival, please visit the Wolin in America Foundation Website.
