HAGERSTOWN, MD – Chances are there are items in your home that aren’t sparking joy in you any longer. The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts’ Treasure Sale is a chance to clear your space and rehome items that might give someone else joy.

Held the first weekend of November, the Treasure Sale is often described as an “upscale yard sale” with items ranging from art to furniture to jewelry and more donated to the museum for sale. The Singer Society, a group of organized museum volunteers, runs the popular fundraiser.

To have a healthy selection of items, the Singer Society is seeking donations for the event.

Donations that will be accepted are antiques in good condition, artwork, rugs, china, Christmas items, crystal, men’s and ladies fashion accessories, furniture, jewelry, musical instruments, silver and vintage items. For a more detailed list, go to wcmfa.org/treasure-sale.

Items that will not be accepted are appliances, bar glasses, bedding, bed frames, books, children’s car carriers, children’s strollers, general clothing or shoes, electronics, flower shop vases, knick-knacks, linens/curtains, luggage, pianos, picture frames, plastic kitchen items, rolled posters, upholstered furniture, or worn cookware.

To drop off items, call the museum at 301-739-5727. Items are accepted Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those who need to arrange pick-up for larger items should call the museum. It’s easy to donate — schedule a drop off, and then print a donation form from our website, list the items that are being donated and bring two copies with you when you drop off your items.

Deadline for donations is Oct. 14.

The Treasure Sale opens with a Preview Event 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3. Cost is $35 per person. Preview party attendees get the first pick of second-hand treasures. Register in advance by contacting Donna Rastelli at 301-739-5727 or drastelli@wcmfa.org. Or go to Eventbrite.com.

The Treasure Sale continues 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4,1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 7. Free admission. On Sunday, shoppers can fill a bag for $25, and on Tuesday fill a bag for $15.
