CHAMBERSBURG- United Way of Franklin County will celebrate the kickoff of it’s Annual Community Campaign on Friday, Sept. 22, with a luncheon at Chambersburg Country Club, bringing together community leaders, nonprofit organizations, volunteers and community supporters.

2023 Campaign Chairperson, Blake Truman, of Verstandig Media, will emcee the event, which features guest speakers; Mike Ross from Franklin County Area Development Corporation; Franklin County Commissioner; Bob Ziobrowski; and Rochelle Plummer, V.P. for Academic Success, King’s College. Each of the speakers will speak to their experiences working with United Way and partnering nonprofits in the community to highlight the role of United Way economically, for provision of local services, and to improve quality of life for individuals. This year’s kickoff is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan.

The Annual Community Campaign will run through the coming six months to raise funds that will allow the organization to allocate support for more than two dozen nonprofit programs that work in partnership to provide resources for basic needs, education, financial stability and health of individuals and families throughout Franklin County. In addition, United Way provides in-kind support, volunteer resources, and other donor-designated funding to many nonprofits in the community through the outreach of the campaign. The purpose of the

United Way Annual Community Campaign is to bring together the gifts and talents of the community and invest in services that will improve access and strengthen local services.
