Rachel Souders appointed Director of Grant Management in Washington County

HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners has announced the appointment of Rachel Souders to Director of the Department of Grant Management. 

Rachel Souders began her journey with Washington County Government in May 2021 as a Senior Grant Manager. During her tenure, she has demonstrated outstanding commitment and expertise in grant management, contributing significantly to the County’s success in securing essential funding for various initiatives.

Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Mount Saint Mary’s University, providing her with a strong foundation in understanding community needs and social dynamics. Prior to joining Washington County Government, she gained valuable experience as a Planner and Auditor at Fairchild Controls. Most recently, she served with distinction in Quality Improvement with the Maryland Department of Health. 

A Washington County native, Rachel Souders resides near Boonsboro with her husband, three children, and the family dog. Beyond her professional achievements, she is an active member of the Keedysville United Christian Fellowship Church, where she also serves on the Finance Committee. She further extends her leadership abilities as the President of the Greenbrier Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association, contributing to the betterment of her local community and educational institutions.
