CHAMBERSBURG — Downtown Chambersburg Inc. (DCI) is hosting its 4th annual Fall Food Truck Fest on Sunday, Oct. 29. Open to the public and with free admission, guests can sample a variety of local victuals and beverages from over 30 vendors in the area.

Featured food trucks include returning guests Fat Russ’ BBQ, Edward’s Kettle Corn, and newcomer Kickin’ Rooster Chicken Sandwiches, among others. McCleary Heating & Cooling will serve as the grand sponsor of the event. Various treats will be available, from burritos to moonshine to ice cream. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.

“It’s a great way to build relationships with businesses outside of our downtown, and also benefits our brick-and-mortar retailers,” says Sam Thrush, president of DCI and festival organizer. “The Fall Food Truck Fest began in 2020 as a way to invite people back to downtown safely. It was such a success that many return year after year.”

The Fall Food Truck Fest doesn’t just feature familiar treats, like funnel cakes and hot dogs, but also features Asian-Caribbean fusion creations with Yume Teriyaki Grill and Filipino food with Rollz on Wheelz Filipino Cuisine. “It highlights the diversity growing here in Chambersburg,” Thrush says. “We all get the opportunity to try some delicious dishes that we never knew about before from places beyond our borders.”

Some of the Fall Food Truck Fest vendors travel to join DCI in the festivities. The 301, which specializes in tacos, hails from Hagerstown, Md. Another guest, Quinn’s Coffee Bar Traveling Café, is coming from Wormleysburg, Pa., a borough across the Susquehanna River from the state’s capital, Harrisburg.

“I love connecting with people in the community over coffee,” says Quinn Barr, proprietor of the coffee truck. “My heart is to bring people together, and we’re so excited to come out to Chambersburg and connect with them over our drinks.”

Proceeds from the Fall Food Truck Fest benefits DCI’s mission of stimulating economic development and revitalizing downtown Chambersburg.

The Fall Food Truck Fest is only one way that DCI builds a better Chambersburg. To learn more about the Fall Food Truck Fest and other DCI events, follow DCI on Facebook at facebook.com/DowntownCburg or email dci@chambersburg.org.
