United Way Community Information Expo to Bring Resources and Support

CHAMBERSBURG — United Way is finalizing preparations for the free Community Information Expo, a dynamic event that aims to bring together community members, organizations, and resources to enhance the well-being of our local residents. This event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at World Harvest Outreach (WHO) and promises to be an engaging and informative experience for all. The WHO building is located at 1090 Wayne Avenue, Chambersburg.

The Community Information Expo is designed to address the diverse and evolving needs of our community. By providing a platform for individuals and organizations to connect, share information, and collaborate, United Way seeks to build a stronger, more resilient community. This event will serve as a one-stop destination for individuals seeking information and support across a wide range of areas, including education, healthcare, housing, employment, and more.

Key features of the Community Information Expo include:

1. Resource Fair: The expo will host a resource fair with local nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and service providers. Attendees can explore booths, engage with experts, and learn about the various services available to them.

2. Workshops and Seminars: Krista Murr, Orrtown Bank- “Climbing the Credit Ladder: A Workshop on Credit Building “; Morgan Hovermale, Waynesboro Community and Human Services-”Rent Relief Roadmap”; Thelma Corrales, Pathstone- “Pathways to Homeownership: Your Key to Real Estate Success”; Rachel Scheaffer, Careerlink- “Career Edge: Mastering the Job Market”

3. Interactive Zones: Visitors will have the chance to engage in interactive zones where they can explore career development opportunities, receive health check-ups, and learn about programs that promote community sustainability.

4. Community Networking: The expo encourages community members to network with one another, fostering partnerships and collaborations that can lead to collective action to address local issues.

United Way is committed to making this event accessible to all members of the community, and it is free to attend. Spanish translation services will be provided.
