We started the youth football season with 21 teams in the Local.News coverage area dreaming of championship glory.

And now, after months of laying it out on the field, only one of those teams is left standing atop the podium: The Chambersburg Trojans.

Chambersburg’s Pony team recently captured the biggest prize the CFA Youth Football League has to offer, earning a 17-7 win over Steelton in the Federal Conference Super Bowl. It was a perfect way to end a monster season for the Trojans, who went 9-1-1 this fall, taking second in their division before marching their way to the Super Bowl with postseason wins over Swatara (12-7) and Palmyra (16-0).

Chambersburg’s Midget team fell just short in the postseason, with their season ending at 7-3 after a 17-6 loss to Red Land in the semifinal round. There’s good news for the Trojan Midgets, however, as seven players were named Federal Conference All-Stars. That list includes First Teamers Cameron Green (offense), Corvin Edwards (offense), and Rylan Pottle (defense), while members of the Second Team include Malachi Tasker (offense), Nathan Chambers (offense), Isaac Schoenhofen (offense), and Noah Kish (defense).

Before we move on to the conclusion of the Keystone Youth Football & Cheerleading season, let’s first take a quick glance at the CFA All-Stars that played for the Waynesboro Stallions Midget team this fall: First Teamers Kaiden Barlow (defense) and Brantley Phebus (defense), and Second Team selection Larry Taylor (offense).

In the KYFCL postseason, the Hamilton Jaguars led the way for local squads, advancing both its JV and Varsity teams to berths in the championship game. Hamilton’s JV season ended at 9-3 after a 20-8 loss to Fairfield in the KYFCL final, while the Jaguars’ Varsity team suffered a 32-16 loss to Fairfield in the title tilt to conclude their season with an 8-2 record.

Below is a team-by-team look at the four area squads that pressed forward to the furthest stages of the youth football season:
