WAYNESBORO- The spirit of giving took center stage in Waynesboro this past Saturday as the Rotary Club of Waynesboro hosted its annual Toys for Kids project. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Rotarian Tracy Holliday’s “elf crew,” 191 children from 95 families received holiday gifts, bringing joy and laughter to countless homes.

The festive atmosphere at the Hurley Auction Center buzzed with excitement as Santa’s helpers, including Rotarians Tracy Holliday, Brian Lucas, Chastity Wantz, and Joe Stewart, distributed brightly wrapped packages. Joining them were members of the Waynesboro Community and Human Services department, led by Director Morgan Hovermale, solidifying the strong partnership that made this event possible.

“Merry Christmas to Waynesboro Waynesboro Community & Human Services my Grandchildren’s Christmas morning was amazing as they opened their gifts from the people that adopted them this year, their gifts were perfect and wonderful and to see their smiles from their gifts from (Santa) made our day as theirs as well” wrote one person on social media.

The Toys for Kids project, a longstanding tradition of the Rotary Club of Waynesboro, embodies the spirit of giving back and ensures that every child in the community has reason to celebrate during the holidays. Witnessing the joy on the faces of the children receiving their gifts is a testament to the power of community and the impact of selfless service.

This year’s Toys for Kids project is a shining example of the Rotary Club’s dedication to enriching the lives of their neighbors. It’s a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact, making the holiday season truly merry and bright for everyone involved.
