WAYNESBORO- The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library has announced their Children’s programs for the month of January. The library is located at 45 East Main Street in Waynesboro. Registration is at www.AHMFL.org

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS – January 2024

A Bedtime Story Sunday, January 7, 14, 21, 28 7:00 – 7:30 PM

Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library will host our Bedtime Story program on Sunday

evenings at 7:00 PM. A variety of stories will be shared by staff and the community.

Book Tasting Monday, January 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 2:00 – 2:30 PM

Join us each week as we share a chapter or two from one of the books in our Juvenile section. Staff will be choosing some of their favorite books to share with you. What a great way to get

just a taste of the story that our books offer.

Music & Movement Thursday, January 4, 11, 18, 25 11:00 – 11:30 AM

Join us for this fun energetic program geared toward children ages two through four, older siblings are invited. Come sing your heart out and move to the beat! We will be having fun with musical

LEGO Club Tuesday, January 2nd 5:30 – 6:30 PM

New Year LEGO Challenge

Calling all LEGO Lovers ages 5 – 11, come join us. 2nd floor in the Community Room. Bring LEGOS from home or use LEGOS supplied by the library. Snacks included.

Preschool Storytime Friday, January 5th 11:00 – 11:45 AM

“Snowmen at Night”

Have you ever wondered what Snowmen do at night? Join our Preschool Storytime as we learn what they do when we are sleeping. We will also be making snowmen that we can eat!

Reading with Rabbits Tuesday, January 9th 5:00 – 6:00 PM

Join us in the Children’s Department for our new program brought to you by Dolly & Friends Small Animal Sanctuary. Come, enjoy a rabbit themed story, learn facts about small animal care and read a library book to an adoptable rabbit. Snacks included.

Preschool Storytime Friday, January 12th 11:00 – 11:45 AM

“The Gingerbread Boy”

Join us during Preschool Storytime for a fairytale about the misadventures of a being a boy made out of gingerbread. Join us as we decorate gingerbread people and try gingerbread snacks!

Winter – STEM Challenge Saturday, January 13th 10:00AM – 12:00PMKids Grade K – 5 join us in the Maker Space for some experiments, with STEM Instructor, Julie Diaz.

BINGO Club Tuesday, January 16th 5:30 – 6:30 PM

Kids ages 8-12 Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library invites you to join us for BINGO Club!

There are many types of BINGO and ways to play. We are going to have fun exploring some of them. Snacks are provided.

Preschool Storytime Friday, January 19th 11:00 – 11:45 AM

“Who Will See Their Shadows This Year?”

Preschool Storytime welcomes Miss Mary Anne as she shares the concept of shadows. This may help us to better understand and appreciate the Solar Eclipse on April 6, 2024.

Magnetic Tiles Club Saturday, January 20th 11:00AM – 12:00PM

Kids 12 and under, bring your imagination. Come, have fun, we build the 3rd Saturday of each month, in the Children’s Department, no registration required, just drop in. Snacks provided.

Kindly Canines Tuesday, January 23rd 6:00 – 7:00 PM

Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library welcomes ages 5-11 in the library’s Children’s Room to read to a variety of therapy dogs. Children may select different books from the library and/or bring their own favorite book from home to read. Kindly Canines is a regular library program held during the school year on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM.

Preschool Storytime Friday, January 26th 11:00 – 11:45 AM

“The Snowy Day”

Join us for a much-loved story read by Guest Reader, Kettie Leighty. This story is about a boy named Peter who discovers that the snow has fallen during the night and all the wonder that goes with it. We will be cutting out snow flake designs followed by a snack.
