Support Local Athletes. Local high school sports are roaring back this weekend, with athletes across basketball, swimming, wrestling, and even bocce ready to battle it out. Take a Fitness Class. Gear up for fitness fun at the Fort Ritchie Community Center. This Saturday, Jan. 6, join their free Open House and discover all the ways to get moving with friends, family, and neighbors. Free fitness class demos start at 9 a.m., with a quick 15-minute showcase of each class throughout the morning. Find the perfect fit, from energizing workouts to mindful practices. Enter for door prizes, explore the facility, and snag a special membership offer just for stopping by. The event is free, but registration is encouraged for the classes.

Support the Fire Dept. Fill up the fridge with delicious meats at the South Mountain Vol. Fire Dept. Meat Raffle. This Friday, Jan. 5, the festivities start at 5 p.m. with doors opening, followed by a hearty Hot Ham & Cheese and Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup dinner at 6 p.m. The main event, the Meat Raffle, kicks off at 7 p.m, offering 10 exciting rounds with 5 chances to win each round. Attend a Rock Show. Hagerstown music lovers, get ready for some blues! This Friday, Jan. 5, at 8 p.m., legendary DC blues band Bad Influence will kick off Hub City Vinyl’s 2024 with a free live show. Witness one of the pillars of the DC blues scene as they take the stage at Hub City Vinyl, located at 28 East Baltimore Street. Don’t miss this chance to experience the raw power and soul of Bad Influence’s blues firsthand.

Play Bingo. Rough Edges Brewery in Waynesboro heats up the weekend with live music and an all-ages BINGO bash. Friday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m., acoustic artist Jamie Alan Turner blends folk, Americana, and blues for a soulful listening experience. Then, on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 3 p.m., grab your crew and compete for cool prizes like merch, beauty supplies, and local goodies at BINGO. It’s free to play, open to all ages (minors with parent/guardian). Get ready for good times, great tunes, and maybe even a lucky streak at Rough Edges Brewery.
