Delays and Closures for Jan. 16

CHAMBERSBURG- The impending snowstorm and cold weather have prompted various delays and closures in the region, with snow projections indicating around 4 inches of snow from Monday night into Tuesday morning. The following are the current delays and closures:

  • Waynesboro Area School District: Closed. All offices are still operating on a 2-hour delay schedule. The make up day for today’s Snow Day will be Monday February, 19th.
  • Greencastle-Antrim School District: Closed
  • Chambersburg Area School District: Closed. Offices will open on a two-hour delay.
  • Fairfield Area School District: Closed. remote learning day. Instruction will begin for middle school and high school students at 10:00 AM and for elementary students at 11:00 AM. Additionally, all offices will be opening at 10:00 AM. Currently scheduled evening events will continue as planned.
  • Franklin County Career and Tech: Closed. Work based learning day, assignments will be provided remotely.
  • Washington County Government: Implementation of liberal leave for non-essential employees until 10 a.m. Essential personnel are expected to report as usual.
  • Fort Ritchie Community Center: Will open at 10 a.m.

The inclement weather has also led to road closures, flight cancellations, and other disruptions in the region, urging residents to exercise caution and stay updated on the latest weather advisories.

The community is advised to stay informed about further developments and to prioritize safety during this period of severe weather conditions.
