CAMP HILL – The Waynesboro Area Senior High School boys’ swim team used its depth to get past Trinity High School, 92-74 on Thursday.

The Maidens had no such dilemma in their meet. Waynesboro rolled past Trinity 118-48.

The Shamrocks won six of 11 events, including the 200-yard medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay. That meant the Indians needed to turn in some second- and third-place finishes. Waynesboro swept the 50-yard freestyle, led by Brenner McIlquham with a time of 22.52 seconds. Owen Shockey and Parker Hull finished second and third, respectively.

McIlquham also won the 100 freestyle in 49.46 seconds. Trinity picked up second and third places in the event.

Trinity nabbed the top spots in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 400 freestyle relay.

Waynesboro’s JB Bonner was the top finisher in the 100 butterfly. He finished in one-minute even. Teammate Cello Dimino placed second.

The Indians claimed second and third places in the 200 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.

In the girls’ meet, Waynesboro’s Eve Phillips continued her dominance in the 50 freestyle (24.82) and 100 butterfly (59.62). She also swam a leg in each of the 400 freestyle relay and 200 freestyle relay, won by Waynesboro.

Waynesboro’s Belle Hess captured first place in the 200 IM (2:35.98). She added a top spot in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.82). Teammate Ruth Phillips won the 100 freestyle (67.65). Ashlynn Carbaugh won the 100 backstroke (1:09.43).
