WAYNESBORO – The Church of the Apostles UCC, 336 Barnett Avenue in Waynesboro located in Wayne Heights cordially invites all who are interested to participate in one or both study groups that will begin on Thursday, Feb. 15. The book study group is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the DVD study group is 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Groups will NOT meet Thursday, March 28 during Holy Week. With no weather cancellations groups will conclude on April 18.
The book group will read THE SIN OF CERTAINTY: Why God Desires Our Trust More Than Our “Correct Beliefs” (9 chapters) by Dr. Peter Enns, Professor of Biblical Studies at Eastern University, St. David’s, PA.
Paperback books are about $15 from Amazon. The church will be placing an order. Books may be picked up at the church Feb. 7, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb 11, noon to 12:30, or Feb 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants are asked to read Chapter 1 prior to the first meeting.
The DVD group will use HERITAGE: CIVILIZATION AND THE JEWS by Abba Ebam, a 9-part (each 1 hour) series of 5 millennia of Jewish history and culture and their centuries old interaction with Western civilization.
There is no cost or pre-registration required for this group.
