Carriage Rides, Escape Rooms, & Fiery Feasts: IceFest Returns for Thrilling 22nd Year

CHAMBERSBURG —IceFest returns for it’s 22nd year in downtown Chambersburg. New this year, the IceFest Committee added carriage rides, escape room and brought back glass blowing demonstrations. The committee has also improved it’s Hot Pepper Eating & Wing-Off Competitions inside Chili-Q.

Carriage rides, with Benchfield Farms, will happen on Thursday, Jan 25 from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Carriage rides are sponsored by Cara Sheaffer Group. Tickets vary in price. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling Traci at 717-448-8464. Carriage rides will embark from Coyle Free Library.

Escape Room, with BrainDrain Escapes, will happen on Thursday, Jan. 25 from 1 to 8 pm., Friday, Jan. 26, noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. BrainDrain Escape Room will be steampunk theme. This new addition to IceFest is sponsored by Mann Plumbing & Heating. Tickets for this new experience can be purchased at: www.braindrainescapes.com/events. This experience will happen inside the Rosedale Parking Lot next to Avocado Café, 33 N Main Street.

Do you enjoy eating wings or peppers? The IceFest Committee will be having a Pepper Eating Competition, sponsored by Grocery Outlet of Chambersburg, at 2 p.m on Saturday, Jan. 27 and a Wing-Off Eating Competition, sponsored by Middletown Valley Bank and wings supplied by Legendz Bar, at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27. Glass Blowing demonstrations makes it’s return to IceFest. The IceFest Committee thanks Kevin Beecher for demonstrating and selling blown glass inside the Rosedale parking lot from Thursday, January 25th to Sunday, January 28th.
