Noah Kreischer, 21, Challenges Republican Incumbent for PA House Seat

CHAMBERSBURG- Democrat Noah Kreischer of Guilford Township is running for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in District 89, the seat currently held by Republican Rob Kauffman.

Noah, 21- a Walmart Associate and Tetralogy of Fallot survivor- is running in order to stop what he sees as both parties’ attempts to erode civil rights based on inflammatory partisan politics.

He was inspired to wage his first campaign for public office by “the advantages I’ve inherited from my family, especially my wonderful late mother. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve seen that not everyone is afforded the same blessings I’ve been, not as a matter of bad luck, but as a matter of policy choice. I’m running for this seat because my generation is who will reap what the leaders of today sow. So it’s time for us to become the leaders, to sow what we want to reap.”

An alum of the Chambersburg Magnet School, Noah has lived in Guilford Hills South since 2004. “Representative Kauffman has been in office essentially my entire life, and how has life been made better for Pennsylvanians? I’m not just a party-line towing partisan. I have my own policies, ideas and goals for Pennsylvania- and I won’t need a lifetime to accomplish them.”

Noah feels strongly about lowering the salary of the general assembly, advocating for bringing it in line with the average household income in Pennsylvania, “in order to keep the government accountable to the people. Over $100,000 a year plus per diems for less than 60 total days in session is absurd.” He has committed to taking a reduced salary for his time in office.

Noah is a strong supporter of the second amendment and abolishing the death penalty. “Over the last few years, our rights and liberties have become politicized and suffered infringement for the benefit of career politicians. I’m against government overreach of any kind, whether it’s a donkey or an elephant trying to trample on you. As your Representative in Harrisburg, I’ll hold both parties accountable to our duty to serve the people, not control them.”

Noah wants to see a curb on lobbying, and his campaign won’t be accepting corporate or union donations, saying he is “beholden to the people and my conscience, not special interest money.” His other legislative priorities include term limits, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s autonomy, a redux of the business tax credit system, a minimum wage increase, and the legalization of marijuana.

“A Representative must represent all the people of their district, not just those who agree with them. As your Representative, I’ll fight for the government to support you and then stay the hell out of your personal business, no matter who you are, who you love, or how you worship.”

Noah is passionate about writing, film, cats, video games, political history, and running. He is especially proud of his large collection of campaign buttons, from Walter Mondale to Mitt Romney, and jokes that he’s “excited to add my own campaign’s buttons to the collection!”
