Franklin County Sheriff Invites Residents to Join Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association as Honorary Members

CHAMBERSBURG— Responding to the increasing number of people wanting to assist law enforcement officials and build a stronger partnership with law enforcement, Franklin County Sheriff Benjamin Sites today announced that Franklin County residents are invited to become honorary members of the Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association.

Membership appeals will be mailed shortly. Individuals choosing to join the voluntary program can do so for as little as $20 while business memberships begin at $100. The funding provides critically important technical resources, training and legislative support on key criminal justice issues. The program does not solicit membership by telephone.

“As funding becomes more and more difficult to secure, this membership drive takes on a greater importance than ever before,” said Sites. “This funding is vital in helping the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office carry out its mission of improving law enforcement through essential training.”

The Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association membership program is committed to its “No Telemarketing” policy and only sends invitations to residents by mail. Individuals who do not receive a membership appeal but would like more information can visit the Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association website, www.pasheriffs.org, or call 877-236-7335. The organization’s mailing address is P.O. Box 61857 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17106.

The membership program was originally formed to provide citizens with an opportunity to lend their support to more effective law enforcement through education, training and good government.

“As the need for building strong public-private law enforcement partnerships in this country continues to escalate, programs such as this continue to grow in importance,” said Sites. “I encourage everyone receiving a membership appeal to consider joining forces with us by becoming an honorary member. It is a valuable investment in the future.”
