Fairfield is a charming community of 526 residents located in south-central Pennsylvania near the Maryland border. Settled in 1801, the Adams County town is surrounded by lush countryside and offers access to many local historic sites including attractions in Gettysburg and Emmitsburg. The Fairfield Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Fairfield schools are situated between scenic golf courses and offer views of a ski resort. The Fairfield Area School District (FASD) hopes these pleasant conditions will attract new talent to their schools in upcoming months. FASD recently updated vacancies on their website so prospective hires can learn more about opportunities available. These positions include Professional and Administrative Staff openings, Support Staff, Advisors, Coaches, and Substitutes. The FASD website (www.fairfieldpaschools.org) offers easy steps to navigate the hiring process for those interested, including information on the application process, clearance procedures, and necessary forms for a successful application.

For the departments of Professional and Administrative Staff, FASD seeks a Language Pathologist, School Psychologist, and Business Manager. For Support Staff, they intend to hire Food Service Aides, Elementary Personal Care Assistants, a Maintenance Tech, and a 2nd shift Custodian.

Fairfield Schools is also searching for Advisors for the High School Class of 2027 and an Assistant Drama Director.

Numerous Coaching positions are available, including a Head Varsity Football Coach, an Assistant Football Coach, and varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach. For spring sports, FASD seeks a Head Track Coach for both the boys and girls teams, as well as an Assistant Track Coach for each squad. For the Middle School, Fairfield is searching for an Assistant Coach for both the girls and boys basketball teams. The sports teams are named the “Knights”.

Substitute positions offer a variety of choices. These include Classroom Aides, Health Room Nurses (LPN and RN), Food Service Aides, and 2nd shift Custodians.

For more information, visit the FASD website or call 717-642-2045 to begin the application process.

The Fairfield Schools website also offers up-to-date information for students and parents. Notable March events include a School Board Study Session on Monday, March 11, at 6 pm, and a Teacher In-Service day March 15, with no school for students. March 22nd is the end of the 3rd Quarter Marking Period, and the School Board meets Monday March 25th at 7 pm. Spring vacation for students and teachers begins Thursday, March 28th.

Other announcements are regularly posted on the website and the Fairfield Area School District constantly reminds the community and potential new employees their motto: “Students First!”
