Enhancing access to exceptional healthcare throughout South Central Pennsylvania, WellSpan Health is expanding the scope of vascular surgery services available in Chambersburg, Gettysburg, Hanover, and York through a recent agreement with faculty physicians from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). Four highly skilled UMSOM vascular surgeons will join WellSpan Health, offering high-quality surgical services to patients in our area.

“We are committed to providing comprehensive and accessible care to patients and the addition of these highly skilled surgeons will ensure that patients across our system have increased access to the specialized care they may need without traveling far from home,” said Dr. Anthony Aquilina, executive vice president and chief physician executive of WellSpan Health. “Offering patients a wider range of vascular medical procedures helps ensure our patients have an enhanced overall patient experience and improved health outcomes.”

The four fellowship-trained vascular surgeons joining WellSpan Health are Dr. Ann H. Kim, Dr. Daniel Neuzil, Dr. Mirnal Chaudhary, and Dr. Swati Chaparala. They will provide comprehensive care for patients with blood vessel disorders and diseases, utilizing various surgical options, including minimally invasive approaches with balloons and stents. These treatments will address conditions such as aortic aneurysms, carotid stenosis, dialysis access, peripheral arterial disease, and varicose veins.

To support the expansion of vascular services in South Central Pennsylvania, three new satellite offices will be established in existing WellSpan locations. Two of these satellite offices are already open in Chambersburg and Hanover, with the Gettysburg office opening in the future. The addresses of these offices are as follows:

  • WellSpan Vascular Surgery – Chambersburg: 176 Coldbrook Ave, Unit A, Suite 2, Chambersburg PA 17201
  • WellSpan Vascular Surgery – Gettysburg: 450 S. Washington Street, Suite A, Gettysburg PA 17325
  • WellSpan Vascular Surgery – Hanover: 1227 Baltimore Street, Hanover PA 17331

In conjunction with the expansion, the vascular surgery office in York has relocated from the WellSpan Heart & Vascular Center located at 30 Monument Rd, Suite 100, to across the street to the Apple Hill Medical Center located at 25 Monument Road, Suite 145 to accommodate the growing demand for vascular surgery services. This updated location will serve as the main office for the three additional satellite offices.
