HARRISBURG- Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Maintenance Crews to Conduct Interstate Cleanup in Franklin County.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has revealed plans for a comprehensive litter cleanup initiative along Interstate 81 in Franklin County. The cleanup operation, spanning from the Maryland state line to the Cumberland County line just north of Exit 24 (Route 696/Fayette Street), is set to take place during the first two weeks of April (April 1-12), weather permitting.
PennDOT maintenance crews will be actively engaged in litter removal activities on both sides of I-81 in Franklin County daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Throughout this period, motorists are advised to exercise caution and remain vigilant for maintenance vehicles and workers operating near the interstate mainline and ramps.
Notably, there will be no traffic restrictions imposed during the cleanup efforts. However, drivers are urged to stay alert and ensure the safety of both themselves and the maintenance personnel involved in the cleanup operation.
