High school scores and standings from April 1-6

Last week in high school sports was a wash. Literally.

Days of heavy rains wreaked havoc for schools in the Local.News coverage area, making it a busier week for athletic directors than the student-athletes, themselves.

As the skies cleared later in the week, a handful of area squads were able to squeeze in games, with a pair of local track teams able to compete in invitationals by the weekend. Smithsburg’s girls track team took second place at the Red, White and Blue Classic hosted by Francis Scott Key, while North Hagerstown’s boys finished as the runner-up at the Jim Taylor Invitational at Jefferson High School in West Virginia.

Below is a sport-by-sport look at how teams in the Local.News coverage area performed last week:

BASEBALL
