Spring into Spring. The Greencastle Spring Market Day is an annual event taking place on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Greencastle. The outdoor market features local vendors selling handmade arts and crafts, fresh produce, baked goods, and prepared foods from food trucks. It is a free event open to the public, providing an opportunity to support small businesses and artisans from the Greencastle community. The Spring Market Day is hosted by the shop, consign & collect co. and the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce. Attendees can explore the vendor booths lining the streets of downtown while enjoying the spring weather.

Experience the Vehicular Extravaganza. The 1st Annual Conococheague FFA Car, Truck, and Tractor Show is set to take place on Saturday, May 18, at James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg. The event will commence with vehicle registration at 9 a.m., followed by the show itself, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All enthusiasts and spectators are welcome to participate in this exciting event. A registration fee of $10 will be charged for each entry. Trophies and door prizes will be awarded at 1 p.m., recognizing the top vehicles in various categories, including 3 car classes, 5 truck classes, and 3 tractor classes. The best cars, trucks, and tractors will be honored as the best of show. Attendees can look forward to a variety of food trucks, children’s activities, and other attractions, including the popular Salty Cowboy BBQ.

Celebrate Music. The Cumberland Valley School of Music will host a Community Fun Fest on Sunday, May 19 from 3-6 p.m. at the AmVets Pavilion in Chambersburg. This family-friendly event will feature food and non-alcoholic drinks, a cash bar, a dessert auction, kids activities, fun and games for all ages, and live music entertainment. It’s an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of festivities while supporting the local music school. Bring the whole family for an engaging celebration filled with delicious treats, lively tunes, and plenty of amusement for everyone.

Go Fishin’. The Fort Ritchie Community Center will host a Bass Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 18 from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The tournament features cash prizes for the adult division and door prizes and raffles for all participants. There are separate youth and adult divisions, with entry fees of $10 for children 15 and under, and $25 for adults. Anglers 16 and older must have a valid Maryland fishing license. It is a catch and release event, with fishing allowed only from the shore – no kayaks or boats permitted.

Join the Outdoor Adventure. The 34th annual Youth Festival, presented by Buttonwood Nature Center, is a free outdoor event geared towards kids of all ages, featuring a variety of interactive activities, demonstrations, exhibits, and entertainment. Highlights include a performance by artist and musician Mark DeRose, a StoryWalk® and craft led by Buttonwood staff, a presentation by the Waynesboro Children’s Theater Troupe, and stations hosted by various organizations. The event aims to promote outdoor play, education, and healthy activities for children, while also celebrating the Earth through an interactive rain table and a bird house auction. With support from sponsors and the local community, the Youth Festival promises a fun and engaging day for families in Waynesboro, on Sunday, May 19 from 1 to 5 p.m.
