CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – F&M Trust has a long history of supporting the community and recently partnered with the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars to support a pair of Washington County youth organizations.

The Flying Boxcars are in their first season of professional baseball in Hagerstown, where they play in a new stadium within walking distance of F&M Trust’s downtown community office.

For each strikeout by a Flying Boxcars pitcher this season, F&M Trust will make a donation to support nonprofit organizations in Washington County. The recipients of this season’s donations are Boys & Girls Club of Washington County and Girls Inc. of Washington County.

“The Flying Boxcars are thrilled to join F&M Trust in its support of the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County and Girls Inc. of Washington County,” said Flying Boxcars General Manager David Blenckstone. “And we thank the Boxcars pitchers for doing their part.”

Since 1941, Boys & Girls Club of Washington County has grown from a single location to four sites across the county where children are encouraged to achieve academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.

“We are so excited for this partnership! This generous offer from F&M Trust will allow us to continue to serve the 900 Washington County youth who benefit from the club each year,” said Addie Nardi, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Washington County. “With the bank’s support, we’ll be able to provide safe, age-appropriate programming and space to care for our community’s most at-risk population.”

Girls Inc. of Washington County has provided organized recreation for girls since 1948 and helps more than 3,000 girls annually to explore and celebrate their strengths through after-school programs, summer camps, and mentoring programs.

“We are so grateful to F&M Trust for supporting the work we do for our girls as we inspire them to grow up strong, smart, and bold,” said Rae Tucker, Director of Development for Girls Inc. of

Washington County. “This donation will help us to continue encouraging our girls’ physical abilities as they find out how capable they are through team-building activities, physical fitness, and sports opportunities that they may never have experienced before.”

F&M Trust will present the organizations with a check during the Flying Boxcars’ final homestand of the season, Sept. 13-15, against the York Revolution.
