CHAMBERSBURG– The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the May 2024 Employee of the Month award to Anthony Merletti during the board’s May 29 public meeting. Merletti has been employed by Franklin County since December 2012 and serves as a network and applications administrator with the county’s information technology services department.

May’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received 32 nominations for the May award, 12 of which were for Merletti.

“Anthony consistently demonstrates excellent customer service to whomever he is helping,” said one nomination. “He is attentive and friendly with those services, he asks questions to better understand the issue, and he works tirelessly to make sure the problem is resolved to their satisfaction. It sounds like he’s doing what he should be doing, but he excels in his customer service skills.”

The nomination continued, “In addition, Anthony goes above and beyond to help his department navigate the unknown and he steps up in times of a heavy workload. Anthony takes on new projects without complaint and with enthusiasm to achieve a successful outcome. He has a stellar work ethic, performs tasks with the utmost professionalism and courtesy, and continuously demonstrates leadership qualities. I am fortunate to have Anthony on our team.”

“A.J. is an asset to the IT department,” said another coworker. “He is a consistent performer, dependable, accessible and responsive. A.J.’s personality shines and working with him is enjoyable and productive. While A.J. may not have performed heroic efforts as past Employees of the Month, he is a constant within the county’s employee base and is a rock star behind the scenes to keep our operations functioning. A.J. is truly a hidden gem that deserves recognition for his years of service and dedication.”

Merletti’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. He is described as a team player as well as helpful, resourceful, responsive, positive, knowledgeable, personable and dedicated.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Merletti on his recognition and thanked him for his excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
