HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Washington County community, along with the Chamber of Commerce and the Washington County Arts Council, Inc., is set to host a significant event on Monday, June 24. The event, titled “Developing an Arts, Entertainment, & Education Cluster in Washington County,” will take place at the Washington County Free Library from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of an updated assessment of Washington County’s arts, entertainment, and related education sector. Anirban Basu, Chairman and CEO of Sage Policy Group, will unveil the latest 2023 study and report commissioned by the Washington County Arts Council, Inc. This study builds upon the previous 2012 assessment authored by Sage, incorporating contemporary data, including visitation statistics and relevant demographic shifts.

Attendees can expect to gain insights into Washington County’s progress in bolstering its cultural offerings over the past decade, despite the challenges posed by the intervening pandemic. The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the county’s achievements in this domain and outline the additional work that lies ahead.

The event will commence with doors opening at 10:45 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m.. Basu’s presentation is scheduled to begin at noon. Tickets for the event are priced at $25.

This event represents a significant step towards fostering the growth of the arts, entertainment, and education sectors in Washington County. By bringing together stakeholders and presenting a comprehensive analysis, the community aims to chart a path towards further enriching the region’s cultural landscape.
