CHAMBERSBURG – F&M Trust recently donated $7,500 to Fulton County Family Partnership to support the Volunteer Dental Clinic in McConnellsburg.

For 25 years, the clinic has provided free dental treatment for eligible Fulton County residents of all ages, as well as preventive and educational programs for parents and children. The clinic is open three days a week.

“We greatly appreciate F&M Trust’s generosity and consideration of our dental clinic,” Fulton County Family Partnership Executive Development Director Julie Dovey said. “The donation will allow us to serve more than 250 children and adults within Fulton County who rely on us to be their dental home.”

Poor oral health can prove more serious than the occasional cavity. It can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, pregnancy and birth complications, lung disease, and eye, nerve, and kidney damage in people with diabetes.

“Supporting organizations that work to meet basic human needs aligns with the bank’s core value of concern for the communities we serve,” F&M Trust President and CEO Tim Henry said. “We greatly appreciate the work that Fulton County Family Partnership is doing to assist families in achieving self-sufficiency and to ensure healthy development and health care for everyone.”

The dental clinic is one of many programs offered through the partnership, which has a mission to promote a quality life based on developing the fullest potential for children, families, and individuals. It sponsors and cooperates in the promotion of health, education, and human services programs, and collaborates locally to provide an integrated, comprehensive, and easily accessed network of services.
