Celebrate Farmer with Free Ice Cream. Snider’s Elevator, Inc., a family-owned business, is set to host its annual Farmer Appreciation Days on Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20. The event, running from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, will feature free ice cream for attendees and the opportunity to meet the Dairy Princess and Franklin County Fair Queen along with their court. Visitors can take advantage of storewide sales, enter to win door prizes, and explore a wide range of products catering to farmers, pet owners, equestrians, and gardeners.

Sip, savor, and vote for your favorite brew. Rough Edges Brewing is set to host its 2nd Annual Homebrew Competition and Festival on Saturday, July 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Main Street Park in Waynesboro. The event, open to the public with free admission, will feature free sampling of homebrewed entries, live music by the Blaine Show, and an awards presentation. The grand prize winner will have their beer professionally brewed at Rough Edges Brewing.

Witness local talent. The Franklin County Visitors Bureau is set to host the A Cappella & Unplugged Finals on Saturday, July 20, at 7 p.m. on the Franklin County Courthouse steps in downtown Chambersburg. Five finalists, including Jeff Trish, Marissa Porter, Kiley Heltzel, Calamity & Justus, and Paul Minnich, will compete for a $500 grand prize. The free event, part of the annual ChambersFest celebration, will showcase performers vying for audience votes to determine the winner. Following the competition, attendees are encouraged to stay for the 1864 Ransoming, Burning, and Rebirth of Chambersburg reenactment.

Don’s Miss the Technicolor Dream. The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater is set to launch its production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on Friday, July 19, marking the opening weekend of this beloved musical. The show, a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, will run through August 18, at the theater located at 44 N. Potomac Street, Rear, in Hagerstown. Known for its catchy tunes and diverse musical styles, “Joseph” features a mix of genres including French ballads, country-western, and calypso. Audiences can expect to hear classic songs such as “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door”. The ticket price includes dinner, the show, and beverages such as coffee, tea, and iced tea. For more information or to purchase tickets, interested patrons can visit the Washington County Playhouse website.

Watch Mario in Hagerstown. Hagerstown city will host a free outdoor movie night at the City Park Band Shell on Friday, July 19. The event, set to begin at 7 p.m., will feature pre-movie activities followed by a screening of “Super Mario Bros. Movie” at dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, though seating is also available on the band shell benches. The family-friendly gathering, open to the public at no cost, promises an evening of entertainment under the stars, complete with concessions for purchase.
