Join the feast and support the cause. The Lions club of Waynesboro will host Pulled Pork BBQ Fundraiser on Sunday, August 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Renfrew Pavilion. Tickets will be available at the event on a first-come, first-served basis for $15 per meal. Enjoy a delicious meal provided by Fat Russ BBQ, which includes a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and a honey corn muffin. Proceeds from this event will support the Waynesboro Lions Club service project.

Pick your own peaches. Country Creek Produce Farm in Chambersburg has announced the start of its popular Pick Your Own Peaches event this week. Beginning Friday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and continuing Saturday, August 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can enjoy a delightful day of peach picking. Guests are encouraged to bring their own containers, although baskets that hold approximately 7-8 pounds of peaches will be available for purchase at $2.75 per pound. For those looking to gather larger quantities, a price of $1.75 per pound applies for orders of 24 pounds or more. Parking is conveniently located in the orchard, accessible by turning off Route 11 onto Social Island Road, where the orchard is situated about a mile down on the right. This family-friendly event promises a fun-filled outing for peach lovers of all ages.

Paint at the Chameleon. The Chatty Chameleon in Greencastle is set to host a Kids Paint Night on Friday, August 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This engaging event invites children aged 5 to 12 to explore their artistic abilities under the guidance of a local artist. All necessary materials will be provided, allowing each child to create a unique masterpiece to take home. This event not only fosters creativity but also provides a wonderful opportunity for children to make new friends in a fun and supportive environment. Dive Deep in the Sea. Authentic Community Theatre is a professional theater community ensemble based in Hagerstown, Maryland, dedicated to enriching the local arts scene through diverse programming and educational initiatives. Established as a not-for-profit organization, ACT offers a variety of performances at The Maryland Theatre, including musicals, community theatre productions, and youth programs. One of its upcoming highlights is Disney’s The Little Mermaid, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. This enchanting musical, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale, features music by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a book by Doug Wright. Play Pickleball. The Waynesboro Areas Business Education Community Foundation will host the Pickle In The Park Tournament at Waynesboro Memorial Park this weekend. Scheduled for from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, the event invites participants to compete in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles matches for a registration fee of $25 per person. Attendees can look forward to prizes, a food truck, swag bags and plenty of fun throughout the tournament.
