Enjoy Friday Night Football and Fireworks. This Friday, Sept. 6, Waynesboro will host its annual Stars & Stripes football game. Attendees can purchase commemorative shirts before the game, which kicks off at 7 p.m., with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the festivities, including a fireworks display following the game.

Get outdoors. Join the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department for their 2024 Outdoor Fall Bash on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the carnival grounds behind their station located at 101 West Main Street, Fayetteville. Tickets are priced at $10 each. The ticket grants admission for one person and includes all food and beverages, as well as a chance to win over $15,000 in prizes. Gates open at 10 a.m., with food served until 4 p.m. and the drawing starting at noon.

Enjoy First Friday. On Friday, Sept. 6 the First Friday Flea Market and Sidewalk Sales will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 25 E Main Street in Waynesboro. This vibrant community event will feature a variety of food trucks offering breakfast and lunch options, making it a perfect outing for families and friends. Attendees can explore local vendors and enjoy the lively atmosphere as they shop and dine in the heart of downtown Waynesboro.

Dance for a cause. Homeless Matters of Franklin County Charity Gala & Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 6 to 11 p.m. at The Grant Street Loft in Chambersburg, PA. This elegant evening will feature delightful dining, lively dancing, and socializing, all under a “Night Under the Stars” theme, celebrating the impactful work of our Day House. Guests will be entertained by DJ LEX, making for a memorable night dedicated to supporting our community’s homeless population.

Meet Aaron Brooks. The Hagerstown community is set to honor hometown hero Aaron Brooks, who recently won a bronze medal in wrestling at the 2024 Paris Olympics. A series of celebratory events will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, starting with an autograph signing at Younger Toyota from 9 to 11:30 a.m., where the first 500 attendees will receive a special trading card. Following this, a processional will march from Younger Toyota to Meritus Park, featuring local police and fire departments. The main celebration at Meritus Park begins at noon, featuring music, speeches from local officials, and a presentation of the Key to the City to Brooks. The event is free, with parking available at no cost in local garages. Community members are encouraged to invite friends and family to join in the festivities and show their support for Brooks, who has become a symbol of local pride and achievement.
