Experience the fun—attend Oktoberfest. Renfrew Museum & Park in Waynesboro is set to host its 9th Annual Oktoberfest Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 14, from noon to 4 p.m.. This family-friendly event, themed “A Celebration of History and the Harvest,” will feature live traditional music, tours of the historic 1812 Royer House, and various activities for all ages. Attendees can enjoy a Biergarten with local craft beers, participate in a silent auction, and explore historic trade demonstrations.

Discover Hagerstown’s roots. Friends of Halfway African American Cemetery Inc. will hold an annual fundraiser and celebration, Roots & Stones: An Afternoon in the Cemetery, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m., with a rain date set for Sunday, September 15. This event will showcase the significant progress made in preserving this historic site, where approximately 400 Black citizens of Hagerstown were buried between 1897 and 1932. Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a silent auction featuring unique items such as a historic home tour and concert tickets, as well as door prizes, food, drinks, and guided tours of the cemetery at 11027 Clinton Ave, Hagerstown.

Connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. The Fall Outdoorsman Expo will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shady Grove Ruritan, located at 2100 Buchanan Trail E., Shady Grove. This year’s event, co-hosted with Black Jacket Munitions, promises to be the largest yet, featuring a variety of activities including fishing and hunting supplies, crafts and food trucks. Admission is priced at $5 per person, and attendees can enjoy both indoor and outdoor exhibits, making it an event suitable for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Support local survivors. On Saturday, Sept. 14, the Cumberland Valley Breast Cancer Alliance will host its 28th annual Walk/Run 5K fundraiser on Rhodes Drive in Chambersburg. The event will commence with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Walk/Run starting at 10 a.m., welcoming participants of all ages and abilities. Sponsored by WellSpan Health, the fundraiser aims to support breast cancer patients through various programs, including free mammograms and financial assistance, while fostering community awareness and support for breast cancer survivors.

Eat, play and give back. A cornhole tournament will take place this Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rural King parking lot, 1005 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg. The event, titled “BBQ & Bags,” aims to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County. The family-friendly gathering will feature Redemption BBQ, various vendors, ice cream and a dedicated kids’ zone filled with activities. Attendees can also look forward to giveaways throughout the event.
