It’s too early to start looking at the postseason, but if the District 3 playoffs started today, three girls volleyball teams from the Local.News area would be dancing.

Greencastle-Antrim (7-1) ranks atop the District 3-3A power rankings, with the Blue Devils’ only loss coming to Chambersburg, another team that has stormed its way into the postseason picture. The Trojans (7-2), who have won six straight matches after starting the season at 1-2, check in at No. 5 in the latest Class 4A rankings, while Waynesboro (6-2) ranks No. 15.

Speaking of Waynesboro, Tribe golfer Tyler Fortney continues to be the standard-bearer for the Mid-Penn Colonial Division, as he shot a 74 to win at Chambersburg Country Club on Tuesday.

In cross country, North Hagerstown star Walker Mason ran a 15:43 to help the Hubs win the team championship at the Wolverine Invite at Wood Grove High School in Purcellville, Va.

Only one area team remains unbeaten in girls flag football: North Hagerstown improved to 2-0 with last week’s 14-0 victory over Clear Spring.

Below is a sport-by-sport look at how teams in the Local.News coverage area performed last week:
