New information executive joins Patriot Federal Credit Union

CHAMBERSBURG – A new chief information officer has been announced for Patriot Federal Credit Union. Joe Lombardi, the new CIO, has more than 28 years of experience in information technology. His experience includes AI governance, machine learning and operational efficiency strategies.

“We are excited to welcome Joe to Patriot Federal Credit Union,” said Ron Celaschi, president and CEO. His extensive experience and knowledge of aligning technology with business goals will help Patriot drive organizational excellence into the future, Celaschi said.

Before joining Patriot, Lombardi served as the chief information officer at Marine Federal Credit Union in Jacksonville, N.C., where he focused on modernizing the information technology department through process automation and enhanced cybersecurity. Before his work at Marine Federal, Lombardi held leadership positions at Traditions Bank in York, Pa., Penn National Gaming Inc. and the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Lombardi earned a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and an MBA in cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He enjoys serving as a certified dog trainer in his free time, as well as reading, writing, playing golf and ice hockey.

“Joining Patriot is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and enhance our member experience through technology,” said Lombardi. “My priority will be to build a technology foundation that truly supports our people and enhances the way we serve our members.”

Patriot has nine branch locations with more than $1 billion in assets and more than 80,000 members. The credit union was named one of the “2023 Best-in-State Credit Unions” by Forbes.
