Treasure Sale returns: Find bargains at Washington County Museum

HAGERSTOWN – For 25 years, those who love a good bargain have found their happy place at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts’ Treasure Sale.

The Singer Society, the museum’s volunteer organization, organizes this annual fundraiser. The Treasure Sale offers shoppers a chance to find their own keepsakes among a variety of items for sale, including furniture, artwork, collectibles, glassware, jewelry and more. This year, the Treasure Sale is Nov. 1, 2, 3 and 5.

The Treasure Sale kicks off Friday, Nov. 1, with a special preview party. Attendees can shop, and enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres, while filling their shopping baskets. The preview party is from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $45 for museum members and $50 for the general public. Registration is required by contacting Donna Rastelli at 301-739-5727 or drastelli@wcmfa.org. Raffle tickets for a chance to win a garden cart filled with hand-picked Treasure Sale items are being sold. The cost is $10 per chance, and chances can be purchased in person or online at the above website. Online raffle tickets will be sold until Friday at 10 a.m. Raffle tickets also can be purchased in person during the party until 7 p.m. The winning ticket will be drawn during the preview party. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

The Treasure Sale continues through Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, 1 to 4 p.m., and Tuesday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Markdowns begin Sunday. Admission is free.

The Treasure Sale accepts cash and all major credit cards.

Located In beautiful City Park, Hagerstown, Maryland, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts was founded in 1931, the legacy of Hagerstown native Anna Brugh Singer and her husband, Pittsburgh-born artist William Henry Singer, Jr. Featuring a collection of more than 7,000 objects, the museum has important holdings of American painting, Old Masters, decorative arts and sculpture. The museum schedules an ambitious program of exhibitions, lectures, concerts, tours and talks featuring national and international artists, as well as a yearly showcase of the art of students in Washington County Public Schools. Its free youth art education programs have served seven generations of local families.

The museum is at 401 Museum Dr. Free parking is available adjacent to the Museum. Hours are 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Tuesday–Friday; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday; 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday; the museum is closed Mondays and major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’ Day.
