Verify your voter registration status online ahead of November election

CHAMBERSBURG – Do you know where your polling place is located? Are you still considered an active voter? Voters who are unsure of these answers can verify this information online through the statewide SURE Public Portal Voters can visit www.pavoterservices.pa.gov and click on the Find Voter Registration Status link to search for their voter registration status (active or inactive) and polling
place address.

The Presidential Election will be held Nov. 5. The deadline to register to vote or to
update voter registration information is Oct. 21. If voters’ information shows an outdated
address after the Oct. 21 deadline, by law voters can vote at their old polling place for
one election. While at the polling place, voters can ask the Judge of Election for the
proper form to update their name and/or address for the next election. Once the
Franklin County Voter Registration Office processes the request, the voter will be mailed
a new voter registration card reflecting the updated information and polling place
location.

Several changes have been made to local precincts and polling locations ahead of
November’s election. Some voters in Chambersburg Borough may be voting in new
precincts due to the borough’s recent reapportionment of its ward boundaries to reflect
census data on the borough’s current population. Voters who are impacted and moved
to other districts will receive a new voter registration card in the mail as well as a notice
notifying them of their new polling location. The Borough of Chambersburg will also
include information on this redistricting project in its October utility bill mailing.

Additionally, the Hamilton 2 polling place is now at the Christian Life Church at 1400
Warm Spring Rd., Chambersburg, and voters in the Metal 2 precinct will now vote at
Metal Township Fire and Ambulance located at 10862 Path Valley Rd., Fannettsburg.
Voters in the Greene 4 precinct will be voting at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 44 E. Main
St., Fayetteville, for the Nov. 5 election. The county anticipates voting will return to the
Fayetteville Fire Hall in 2025.

Voters affected by a change in voting precincts will receive a new voter registration card
in the mail before the election. Voters who are voting in a new precinct for the first time
may be asked to show ID at their new polling location; this is the only time voters will be
asked to show ID. For a list of approved forms of ID, visit the Department of State
website, www.vote.pa.gov.

Any questions concerning voters’ registration should be directed to the Franklin County
Voter Registration Office at 717-261-3886. Any questions concerning polling places or
the upcoming election should be directed to the Franklin County Election Board at
717-261-3812. Additional information is available on the county’s website,
www.franklincountypa.gov
