CHAMBERSBURG – Habitat For Humanity and St John’s United Church of Christ have partnered together again to host a used book sale to benefit Habitat’s housing ministry. More than 30,000 books, puzzles, games, music and more were donated by the community.

Donations for the sale are now closed. The sale will take place at St. John’s UCC over three days on Friday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27, from noon to 4 p.m.

This is a volunteer-led initiative, and all proceeds will be used to help build the next Habitat house in Franklin County. Mark Story, Habitat director of advancement said, “Following the success of our previous sales we are pleased to provide this opportunity to the community again. We especially thank the leadership at St. John’s Church for the sale space, BCM Payroll Services for their generous sponsorship, and The Butcher Shoppe for donating bags.” St John’s Church is located at 1811 Lincoln Way E. Full sale details can be found online at: sjucc1811.org/book-sale/

Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County was formed in 1994, and volunteers have constructed 58 homes in partnership with local families in Franklin County. This helps to achieve Habitat’s vision of “A world where everyone has a decent place to live” and ensures there is adequate affordable housing stock in Franklin County for everyone to live, work, worship and play. Additional information is available at info@habitatfranklinpa.org or 717-267-1899.
